Genetic Disorders Project

Overview

Students will work individually, in groups, and as a class to explore the aspects of Genetics. These activities address issues such as the technical aspects of genetics (DNA, Punnett Squares, etc), genetic disorders, and biotechnology. During this project, students will create an informational brochure (electronic or not) about a specific genetic disorder that they research. This information will be shared with the class in a formal presentation.

Project Resources

• Be sure to use your Project Task Sheet.
• Choose (and report to Mrs. Roese) a genetic disorder from the list on the Genetics Project Information Sheet to research for your brochure.
  
• Refer back to the Genetics Project Information Sheet frequently to make sure you are including all important information.

• Research your chosen genetic disorder and fill in the Genetics Disorder Research Sheet.
